Supports people affected by diabetes by providing information, diabetes research, education, service, and advocacy.
Good nutrition and healthy meal planning are vital components of diabetes management. Recognizing the challenges involved in nutrition and diabetes, the Canadian Diabetes Association offers a full breadth of resources and information, including guides, tools, resources and manuals. We provide specific information on special topics such as carbohydrate counting, alcohol, sugars and sweeteners, portion sizes, the Glycemic Index and more.
To promote regional integration of services by bringing clarity to roles and addressing gaps in services and in the hand-offs between services, engage diabetes education programs across the Champlain region to promote service integration & adoption of best practices.

Use this tool to find out the nutrients in your favourite recipes, and see how many Food Guide Servings your recipe provides. You will also find ingredient substitution tips that you can try to make your recipes healthier (e.g. lower in calories, fat, sugar or salt). You can also compare your new recipe to your original recipe to see the difference. When done, you can:
  • print your recipe analysis
  • put it in your own recipe binder
  • store your recipe in your personal "recipe box" on the Dietitians of Canada - Recipe Analyzer website. How cool is that!

EatRight Ontario wants to help you improve your health and quality of life through healthy eating. This service provides easy-to-use nutrition information to help you make healthier food choices.

Registered Dietitians provide EatRight Ontario visitors with feature articles on food and nutrition, meal planning advice, healthy eating tips and recipes. We cover a wide range of interesting topics that are updated on a regular basis. Topics include Family Nutrition, Healthy Eating, Healthy Weights, Seniors Nutrition and Disease Prevention.

EatRight Ontario allows you to ask nutrition-related questions and receive feedback by phone or email from a Registered Dietitian. Nutrition tools and links offer many additional resources to support you in developing healthy eating habits for you and your family.

 

Eat well with Canada's Food Guide! Learning more about Canada's Food Guide will help you and your family know how much food you need, what types of foods are better for you, and the importance of physical activity in your day.
Healthy Eating is in Store for You™ (HESY) is an exciting project that will help consumers make healthy food choices through better use of the nutrition information on the label of packaged foods. The Canadian Diabetes Association and Dietitians of Canada have joined forces to bring this program to you. Funding for the project was received from Health Canada through the Canadian Diabetes Strategy Prevention and Promotion Contribution Program.
